It is a privilege for me to introduce a beautiful friend of mine, Joelle who has an inspiring post for us today! Joelle has a passion and unique talent for writing. Her love for Christ is evident in all she does. I am certain that you will be blessed by her words.

In the Tough Times By Joelle W:

There are seasons in your life when everything is going good. You just got a promotion or you’re engaged. Whatever the reason it’s a good time in your life. Then there are other seasons when life isn’t going too well. You got laid off, you just broke up with your boyfriend, or you had a miscarriage. Again, whatever the reason life is just not going well. These are the various moments that fill our lives on a day to day, month to month, and year to year basis.

Even though these various moments tend to fill our lives, we always know what to do in the good moments. I don’t think anyone can say: “I don’t know what to do in this great time of my life.” Why? Because usually we do! It’s a happy time so we embrace it and make the most of it. However, when it comes to the bad times our reactions are replaced with shock, pain, sadness, and indignation. Moments like this can take us off guard and remind us of the reality of life. These are the times when we wonder how are we going to get through it all.

Maybe right now, you’re walking through some difficult days. Things seem to be falling apart or you’re waiting for that prayer to be answered. Some days you feel strong and confident in God then there are other days when you’re not. Then there are times where your faith soars and times when doubt clouds your judgement. Just the other day, I found myself losing faith during  a difficult time. However, as doubt seeped into my mind so did Psalm 94. It states, “18 I cried out, ‘I am slipping!’ but your unfailing love, O LORD, supported me. 19 When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.” (Psalm 94:18-19). Shortly after coming across this verse, my countenance changed. Happiness came back and once again I was confident in God. Did the storm immediately go away? No but the comfort God brought during that time was exactly what I needed.

God is faithful, trustworthy, and good! We can lean on Him even when we find ourselves in a cloudy period. We may not understand all the details in our lives but we can understand God’s timing. Ecclesiastes 3:1 states, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:…”(Ecclesiastes 3:1). God keeps this strategic plan for a reason, He is an intricate God. He works on each and every part of our lives in a careful yet perfect matter. Like the day I received that comforting word, I didn’t know God was already at work but He was. God didn’t forget about you He’s working but while you’re waiting, can you lean on His comfort?
